Where You Live
While a majority of patients are cared for in their own homes, care is also provided in nursing facilities and Hope Hospice Houses. In all settings, family members will find comfort in knowing that their loved ones are receiving exceptional care and support from a team of Hope Hospice professionals.
Hospice Care in Nursing Facilities
The Hospice Team is also able to provide this special care for nursing facility residents by working cooperatively with the nursing facility's staff. Hope Hospice provides care in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Facilities. Those in our care are supported through the end of life process with coordinated physical, emotional and spiritual care.
Hope Hospice Houses
Hope Hospice Houses are for patients who require a supervised setting or respite for the caregiver.
• Hope Hospice House Fort Myers
• Hope Hospice House Cape Coral
• Joanne's House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs
These in-patient facilities provide a home-like atmosphere where patients receive special care while being surrounded by friends and family members. Guests are welcome 24 hours a day. Each facility features private suites, comfortable common areas including a family room, kitchen, and living room, as well as a chapel, laundry facility, children's play room and a cafe. Guests are encouraged to walk the naturally preserved grounds and visit the unique butterfly gardens that surround each house.
Hope Hospice at Shell Point
Hope Hospice maintains a presence at the Shell Point community in South Fort Myers where it cares for about 50 residents. The Hope Hospice- Shell Point partnership is unique. Each Shell Point resident has a life care contract, which provides a variety of amenities and services to seniors in a resort setting. In addition, this contract provides skilled nursing care as needed and services through the end of life. Both Hope Hospice and Shell Point professional staff serve each patient.
The goal of the partnership is to continually offer the best healthcare services available to residents. Many of the patients who have received hospice care have spouses living within the community, allowing them to remain nearby at all times. Friends and neighbors can also conveniently visit, due to the close proximity.
In addition to serving residents at its own nine-bed facility, Hope Hospice also serves patients at Shell Point's independent living, assisted living and nursing facilities, plus patients who live in the area and who live outside Shell Point.
Hope at Highlands Regional
Hope Hospice and Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring have introduced the first in-patient hospice care program in Highlands County. "Hope at Highlands Regional" is located on the second floor of the hospital in an area specially designed for hospice care. It includes seven patient care suites and a family room and is attended by hospice staff 24 hours a day.
All of the hospital's amenities are available to hospice patients' families, including food services, convenient parking and after-hours security. Hope at Highlands Regional is open to everyone in the surrounding area who is in need of our services; it is not limited to patients of Hope or Highlands Regional. Families in Highlands County and the surrounding area no longer have to drive great distances to in-patient hospice facilities, which means they will have more precious time with their loved ones.
Highlands Regional Medical Center has served the residents of Highlands and surrounding counties since 1965. Like Hope, Highlands Regional has a dedicated healthcare team whose coordinated efforts assure consistent excellence in care.
