Ways to Volunteer

Ask the Hope Volunteer Department how you can best use your talents and abilities to help.
Here are just a few of the ways to volunteer:

hands Hands of Hope: Whether holding a hand, offering a hug or just listening, Hands of Hope Volunteers provide caregivers and patients with a much needed break. Visit patients in their homes, in a nursing facility or Hope Hospice House.
11hour 11th Hour Volunteers: Offer support and comfort at a patient’s end of life by praying, singing, reading verses, or simply being present. Volunteers may comfort loved ones, answer phones or doors, make coffee, food, or drinks.
car Angel Wheels: Drive a patient to a doctor’s appointment, run errands for a family, or deliver medication and supplies. Families may also need transportation to visit their loved one in a nursing home or Hope Hospice House.
hospitality Hospitality: Greet visitors in the Hope Hospice Houses, give tours of our facilities, assist with memorial services, deliver flowers, and provide families with local resource information.
admin Administrative: In all our service areas, assistance is needed with mailings, filing, data entry, and more. Volunteers who know foreign languages may help with translation.
pets Paws for Hope: Pets and their owners visit patients and families after becoming certified Pet Therapists. Learn more about Hope’s Pet Therapy program.
hopechest Hope Chest Resale Store: Receive items, help customers, and stock store shelves. All proceeds from the store benefit our patients and families. Learn more about Hope Chest.
kamp Kids Art & Music Program (KAMP): Work with certified art and music therapists to provide fun, playful activities and simple tasks to engage Hope Kids Care patients.
artisan Artisans: Hospital gowns, quilts, aromatherapy pillows and other handmade items are used daily by patients. Sewers for our Personal Treasures program create family keepsakes made from patients' clothing.
mentor Volunteer Mentors: Experienced volunteers share experiences, discuss best practices, and act as a sounding board for new volunteers. Mentors help ensure the best possible volunteer experience.
honor guard Hope Honor Guard: Veterans of the United States military perform a recognition ceremony to honor the service of their fellow veterans in hospice care. Veteran recognition is part of our VALOR program.
professional Professionals: Working closely with Hope staff, licensed massage therapists, hair stylists, barbers, nurses, and counselors generously share their talent and skills.
teens Teens: Teens are trained alongside adult volunteers and supervised by our Volunteer Coordinators. Teens often work at our Hope Health Center, coordinating fun activities for seniors in the Hope Select Care program.
